ABOUT MR. RUCK

Hello Parents!
I am extremely happy to be returning to Queen Mary and be apart of your child’s education. I also wanted to take this opportunity to share some information about myself. I am originally from Whitby, ON and grew up in a family of educators. My mom, dad and uncle are all retired teachers from Durham Region and Toronto DSB respectively. My brother still lives in Whitby and is working in advertising industry.
I moved to Peterborough in 1998 when I decided to attend Trent University. Upon completion in 2002, I took a job at the YMCA working/coordinating summer camps and youth programs. It was these experiences that lead me to decide to become a teacher. I completed my Bachelor of Education at Queen’s University in Kingston in April of 2006.
This will be my 11th year teaching. Up until this year, I have taught primarily in the Peterborough area. My teaching career has taken me to Young's Point, Ridpath, Armour Heights, Edmison Heights, Westmount and Roger Neilson.
I am extremely athletic and take the opportunity to coach whenever the situation presents itself. Last year, I coached Junior Floor Hockey, Junior Basketball, Intermediate Girls Volleyball, Junior Boys 3-Pitch and Track and Field.
Personally, my wife (Christie) and I reside in Peterborough with our now 2.5 year old daughter (Claire) and our 10 month old daughter (Victoria). We enjoy travelling (stadium tours) and spending a lot of time at our families respective cottages.
